Long-Term Success
The Walter’s Homestead and Farm envisions long-term success as a thriving, multi-generational farm that balances productivity with sustainability, supports the local community, and provides valuable life skills to all who contribute. By combining hands-on experience, responsible land management, and a commitment to education, we aim to leave a legacy of stewardship, resilience, and growth for future generations.

Harvesting Nature’s Best with Care

The farm is co-owned and operated by two partners whose complementary backgrounds provide a strong foundation for success. Together, they combine experience in diversified crop production, business management, animal husbandry, construction, and mechanical maintenance. This ownership structure allows the farm to operate efficiently while minimizing reliance on outside labor and contractors.

One co-owner is a 41-year-old farmer with over six years of hands-on experience growing fruits, vegetables, and herbs. She also brings more than ten years of professional business management experience, including planning, budgeting, recordkeeping, and operational oversight. Originally from Connecticut and now based in Missouri, she is deeply committed to sustainable agriculture, self-sufficiency, and strengthening local food systems. As a mother of three, she is dedicated to building a farm that supports both family livelihood and community food access.

The second co-owner is a 25-year-old raised in Texas with four years of hands-on ranch experience. He is responsible for all daily livestock care, including dairy and protein production, and maintains strict standards for animal welfare and humane practices. In addition to animal husbandry, he designs and constructs farm infrastructure and performs all vehicle and equipment maintenance, ensuring operational reliability, safety, and cost control.

I am a 9-year-old with five years of hands-on experience in planting and harvesting fruits, vegetables, and herbs as part of our family homestead and farm. While maintaining strong academic performance and fulfilling my responsibilities in the Young Marines program, I am developing valuable skills in discipline, teamwork, and leadership. Born in Colorado and raised in Missouri, I have a strong appreciation for land stewardship and actively contribute by mowing and maintaining the property. I also assist with the daily care of our dogs and cats. As I continue to grow and learn, my next goal is to develop hunting skills to responsibly help provide meat for my family’s homestead and farm.

I am a 5-year-old with three years of experience helping plant crops and weed the gardens and farm. I enjoy caring for our animals, especially helping take care of the dogs and cats, and I am a dependable egg collector. Born and raised in Missouri, I take my responsibilities seriously and am beginning to learn important life skills, work ethic, and early business skills through hands-on involvement in our family farm.
